Das vorliegende Album wurde von Januar 2006 bis Februar 2007 in Eigenregie und –produktion von 4 motivierten, skandinavischen Musikern in Finnland aufgenommen. Die Songs, ausschließlich im Midtempo arrangiert mit weit mehr als einer Stunde Gesamtspielzeit (analog zu der etwas länger gewordenen Einspielphase), lassen die Zeit leider ein wenig zähfließend werden. Gleichförmige, Drumlastige Melodien werden auf einer Kette mit 17 Gliedern aneinandergereiht. Die ruhigen, durchaus düsteren, Vocals dröhnen anfangs auf ‚Savage Infinity’ und ‚Lacerate’ noch recht breit produziert, werden dann allerdings mit jedem weiteren Song zu einer anklagenden und durch den Raum schwebenden Monotonie.
‚KS 3.7 The Legend’ ähnelt von der Intonation und Melodie sehr stark dem Sound der 69 Eyes, überhaupt haben sich JOINT DEPRESSION in mehr als einer Komposition an ihren ebengenannten Landsmännern orientiert. Da sich fast ausnahmslos alle Songs ähneln, gleicht das Album dahingehend einer stilistischen Zwangsjacke. Es fehlt „Savage Infinity“ schlichtweg an Experimentierfreudigkeit. Nur ‚Down on Your Knees’ mutiert mit seinem aufmüpfig und angenehm vorwärtsprügelnden Bass nonkonform zu einem Ohrwurm.
Inhaltlich und musikalisch also weder die Neuerfindung der Gitarre noch eine unverzichtbare Neuanschaffung, ist „Savage Infinity“ nicht mehr und nicht weniger als ein gerade mal so durchschnittliches Gothic-Rock/Doom-Metal-Album geworden. Für die mix- und soundtechnisch professionelle Eigenproduktion gibt es aber wahrlich verdient und anerkennend einen Zusatzpunkt.
